I worked as a caregiver for Gabe, Matthew Rodreick's son, for a bit over a year, and we quickly formed a tight relationship. Learning about  his experiences and seeing first hand the ways in which he interacts with the world is incredibly inspiring. AND at the same time, I would love to see continued progress in restorative therapeutic options, more legislation allocating funding for research, and ultimately, increased daily independence for Gabe and others living with SCI and paralysis.

This is not my first race, but certainly the longest one! I'm reallly excited to run in a big race for an organization (U2FP) I am passionate about.

FUN FACTS:

-I crave iced water with lemon, swimming, and basking in the sun after a long run.

-Rather than listen to music, I prefer to focus on my breathing and the scents around me.

-I'm nervous about the early start, I'm NOT a morning person.

-I won a 5K with a fractured knee!  Previously, I took a drastic tumble on a hiking/camping trip, and was too nervous to see a doctor for 3 months! Ignorance is bliss ...right?
