I am running in both The Boston Marathon AND the Chicago Marathon this year! I've completed more than 20 marathons since 1997, and am motivated by the 16-18 weeks of regimented, structured and disciplined training sessions.

I joined Team U2FP to raise awareness for SCI and U2FP's mission, and to raise funds for U2FP. In the mid 80’s, my mother was diagnosed with cancer in her throat. She underwent cobalt therapy. The side effect was lower cervical SCI-like symptoms and signs mixed with peripheral neuropathy. She lived with the injury for another 3+ decades. In the 90’s, while in PT School I had a month long rotation in an SCI unit in the Philippines. And later in my career, I worked closely with someone with SCI. Additionally, most recently, a friend, PT colleague and cycling club teammate suffered a traumatic SCI. He is the one who introduced me to SCI advocacy.

Unite 2 Fight Paralysis is proud to be an official charity team for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in 2018. Team U2FP is a group of passionate, hard working runners and wheelchair racers committed to racing the 26.2 miles and fundraising to advance research towards a cure for spinal cord injury.
